The West Bengal BJP initiative cases that the Trinamool Government has never offered the previous Indian cricket commander at least some respect
The choice by the Bharatiya Janata Party-drove government in Tripura to delegate previous Indian cricket commander Sourav Ganguly as the brand envoy for the northeastern State has set off a political line with the BJP and Trinamool Congress participating in a slanging match.
Heads of the West Bengal BJP on Monday hailed the choice of the Tripura Government and underlined that it fixed a misstep made by the Trinamool Congress Government.
“The West Bengal Government never offered Sourav Ganguly at least some respect while the BJP-drove Tripura Government made him their image envoy,” Sukanta Majumdar, West Bengal BJP president said.
In October 2022 the Trinamool Congress authority including Boss Priest Mamata Banerjee cried foul when Mr. Ganguly was prevented a second term as president from getting the Leading body of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Ms. Banerjee had made public requests to the State head Narendra Modi to give Sourav Ganguly a second term as BCCI president.
Alluding to the improvements in October last year, BJP public VP Dilip Ghosh said that Trinamool authority had shed “fake tears” when Roger Binny supplanted Saurav Ganguly as the BCCI president however never got his due.

“Whenever you have individuals like Sourav Ganguly in your State, for what reason do you really want another person as the State’s image envoy,” Mr. Ghosh expressed, calling attention to that Bollywood entertainer Shahrukh Khan is the State’s image minister.
The Trinamool Congress administration said that the BJP was purposely attempting to politicize the issue. “It is a typical practice to choose film stars and cricketers as brand diplomats. Tripura has done nothing out of the crate. The BJP is intentionally attempting to politicize the issue,” Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy said.
Mr. Roy said that everybody knew about how Sourav Ganguly was embarrassed by the BJP during the BCCI episode last year.
Mr. Ganguly is known to be friendly with Mamata Banerjee and is frequently seen at different occasions coordinated by the State Government. As of late the West Bengal Government redesigned the security front of Mr. Ganguly from Y to Z class.
